Joan Ann Liotta

Joan Liotta of Wayne NJ, passed away peacefully on Oct 20, 2024 surrounded by her family. Joan was 91 yrs old. She is survived by her four sons and their wives, Peter and Lois Liotta, Richard Liotta, Thomas and Savika Liotta, John and Donna Liotta. She is also survived by seven grandchildren and their spouses,

Stephanie and Kim Liotta- Atkinson, Kara Liotta and her partner Kate, Thomas and Brandi Liotta, Elizabeth and Scott Paxson, Moriah Liotta, Josiah Liotta, and Josh and Candace Kanaplue. She is also survived by five great grandchildren, Annika, Quinn, Austin, Ella, and Jack.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband Peter Liotta Sr. They were married for 53 years Joan was born in New York City to Thomas and Isabella Byrnes on October 14 1933 She grew up and lived in Bronx NY before moving to Spring Valley NY where she and Peter Sr. raised their family. She cherished her time with her children and grandchildren.

She was a highly regarded United States Figure Skating Association judge for 40 plus years, traveling for testing and competitions. She rarely missed a U.S Nationals competition. Her love for judging was inspired from spending many hours in the rink with her son John. In judging, Joan committed herself to excellence, and made many lasting friendships along the way.

The viewing will be held on Sunday October 27, 2024 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Michael J Higgins Funeral Service Inc.,321 S. Main St New City NY 10956. Funeral Mass on Monday October 28, 2024 at 10:00 am at St. Augustine church 118 S Main St New City NY 10956, burial will follow at Ascension Cemetery 650 Saddle River Rd Airmont NY 10952.
