Joan Rinder

Joan Rinder of Butler, NJ passed away on February 18 th , 2025 with her loving family by her side. Joan was born to Agnes and Barnhard Ramberg on September 10, 1938, in The Bronx, NY. She was one five children. She was the baby of the family with an age gap of seventeen years to her eldest sibling.

Joan had a kind and generous spirit. Her door was always open to anyone who was in need. She never forgot a birthday, anniversary, or any other special event. Joan took great pride in her home. She loved to decorate and kept it immaculate. Joan was a wonderful cook. She loved nothing more than to feed people. She loved to entertain for the holidays, especially Christmas. Joan was quite the ‘diva’. She always looked beautiful and dressed to impress. Most of all, Joan loved her family including her husband Manfred, who she referred to as Schatzi, her children, and grandchildren. She will always be remembered for her warm, beautiful smile.

Joan is survived by her loving husband Manfred, her daughters Joan Smith and husband Joseph, Catherine Christie and her husband Jack, her son Richard Juritsch, and stepson Andre Steffen. Grandchildren: Michael and Melinda Jaeger, Raymond Robles and fiancée Dominique, Jack Ryan Christie, Aaron and wife Kathleen, Richard, Robert, Anthony and wife Molly Juritsch. Great-grandchildren: Corey, Danny, Lily and Rosie Jo.

Joan was predeceased by her parents Agnes and Barnhard Ramberg and siblings Dorothy, Alice, Irene and Roy and their spouses, and great- grandson Christopher Paul. Family will receive family and friends at Higgins Funeral Home, New City, NY Sunday February 23 from 3:00pm – 7:00pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, February 2025, at 10am Saint Paul’s Church in Congers, NY with interment to follow at Saint Anthony’s Cemetery in Nanuet, NY.
