Family and friends mourn the passing of John Deans. A graduate of PRATT and Columbia Universities, he was a professor emeritus at City University of New York and taught and practiced architecture for over 45 years. We will always remember him for his independent spirit, sharp wit, intelligence, love of the outdoors and as an admirer of the arts.
He is survived by his dear friend, Doris; two daughters, Alison and Jennifer; his son-in-law, Ken and grandchildren, Isabelle and Gavin.
Family will receive friends on Thursday from 2-4pm & 7-9pm at the Higgins Funeral Home in New City. A private burial will be held at Rockland Cemetery. Donations are requested to The National Kidney Foundation : NY Chapter, c/o 30 East 33rd Street Suite 300, New York, NY 10016.
