John Louis Grznar Jr.

John Louis Grznar Jr., of Piermont NY, 77 years old, passed away peacefully on June 9 2024, after a courageous battle with cancer. John was lifelong resident of Piermont. Born May 1947, to Katherine (Koza) and John Grznar Sr. He was a 1965 graduate of Tapan Zee High School. He attended RCC while working at the Continental Can and Federal Paper Company. He was drafted in the army in 1967and was in Vietnam Infantry Division and received Honorable Discharge in 1969. John was sole proprietor of his mason and chimney sweep business, working primarily in NYC, for over 50 years.

John enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, “John Scissors Hands”, boating, fishing, and hanging with his buddies at the pool. He was an avid Yankee fan. John is survived by his Beloved wife, Laura (Healy), 3 daughters, Veronica (Gary) Brown, Jennifer (William) Grznar, Elizabeth (Jiamie) Grznar; 6 grandchildren, Kelsey, Kendal, Olivia, Jiamie, Madison and Carley; 1 great grandchild Jacob. Step-daughter Dawn (Terence) McKee, step-grandchildren Lily, Taylor, Riley and Dylan. He is also survived by his sister Kathie Reynolds.

John was deeply loved and he will be deeply missed by all that knew him.

A memorial service, in honor of John, will be held on Saturday June 22,2024 from 10-1p at Higgins Funeral Home, 321 South Main St, New City, NY 10956. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Tunnel to Towers Foundation, The Humane Society, and ASPCA.
