John Hanley of New City, NY, 95 years old passed away peacefully on April 2, 2019. John was born on December 25, 1923 to Elizabeth and Richard Hanley of Doneralie County Cork, Ireland. He is predeceased by his wife Theresa an infant son, Patrick. He is survived by his children Gabrielle and James as well as his sister Christine Crowe of Dumont, NJ and brother, Patrick Hanley of San Bruno, CA, many nieces and nephews as well as special friends, Tom, Debbie, Jennifer and Rebecca Teste, Jim and beloved caregiver Pauline. John was an avid reader and had a true love of nature and a great gardener. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Family will receive friends on Thursday, April 4 from 3-5pm and 7-9pm at Higgins Funeral Home in New City. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, April 5 at St. Francis of Assisi in West Nyack, NY at 10am, followed by interment at Ascension Cemetery in Airmont, NY.
