John J. Hughes Sr., a longtime resident of Stony Point, formerly from Brooklyn, passed away after over a 10 year battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his family when the Lord took him home. He was 72 years old. John worked for Consolidated Edison for over 38 years.
He is survived by his wife Elizabeth (Betty), sons John J. Jr., Scott E. (Eon), daughter Diane E. and his 2 grandchildren Lauren E. and Scott E. Jr.
Family will receive visitors on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9pm at Michael J. Higgins Funeral Service Inc., Stony Point. Service will take place Saturday, August 1 at 11am at Living hope Fellowship Church, 9W, Tomkins Cove.
