He was born to Ole and Sofie, in Vatnestrom, Norway, July 3, 1923. He spent his youth in Norway until he joined the Allied Forces during WWII. After the war ended, he emigrated to America with a few dollars and a dream. John married Magny Byremo and had three children; Irene, John Jr., and Linda. He had nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild on the way.
As a new home developer in Rockland County, he created multiple communities over a 60 year span. When recently asked which ones he liked the most, he replied, "All of them"! As a widower, in his later years, he married Dariko Khubasvili who cared for John with love and respect.
In Norway, he leaves behind his sister Myrtle and many nieces and nephews.
Service on Friday 11AM at Hope Community Church Middletown Road Nanuet, NY. Interment to follow at Germonds Cemetery New City, NY.
