In his younger years, John loved to sail and ski. He was also an avid bowler with the Montvale, NJ, bowling league. John was also fascinated with computers and new technology. After their retirements, both John and Helen volunteered for many years at the Clarkstown Senior Center Meals on Wheels Programs and Services with John serving right up until December of 2015.
John is predeceased by his beloved wife, Helen, sisters Dorothy Gillespie, Hope Camp, Sylvia Hunter, and brother-in-law Clinton W. Neidermier. He is survived by 15 nieces and nephews, and countless great nieces and nephews. Uncle Johnny will be remembered for his thoughtfulness, dedication and willingness to help anyone who needed it. He treated everyone as his extended family and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
