Joseph "Sonny" A. Aguayo passed away on June 25, 2011. He was born in NYC on July 26, 1930 to Jose and Milagros Aguayo. Joe was a New York City Firefighter for 30 years at Engine 84 "Where Harlem meets the Heights", and also was a proud member of the Army National Guard for 40 years retiring at the rank of 1st. Sgt. He also was a member of the Americal Legion Post 1682 William E. DeBevoise Jr., Pearl River Elks, New City Knights of Columbus, and the Florians Association. Joe is predeceased by his loving wife of 50 years Marilyn. He is survived by his children Marilyn and her husband John Fincken, Alice Ragno, Thomas Aguayo, and Bridie Aguayo. He will be missed dearly by his three grandchildren Dante Ragno, J.J. and Kristin Fincken. Also surviving are his sister-in-laws Alice Carmody, Bridie LaCava, Una Roskind as well as many nieces and nephews who loved him dearly. Family will recieve friends on Monday and Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9PM at the Higgins FS, New City. A mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday 10AM at St. Augustines Church, New City. Burial will follow at Calverton National Cemetery, Calverton, NY. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in his memeory to the NY Firefighters Burn Center. 21 Asch Loop. Bronx, NY 10475.
