Josephine M. Meunier

Josephine M. Meunier passed away peacefully on December 27, 2014 surrounded by her loving family. She was 92. Josephine was born in Haverstraw, NY on February 19, 1922 to Nicolo and Santarella Franchi Bosico. Mrs. Meunier had been a Nanuet resident for the past 64 years and formerly lived in Haverstraw, NY.Josephine loved children and was well known in the community for owning and operating "Momma Jo Day Care". Josephine married Roger L. Meunier in 1946. Josephine will be remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.Josephine is predeceased by her husband of over 50 years, Roger L. Meunier and her brother, Danny Bosico. She is survived by four daughters, Rosalie (Mike) Pahel, Jeannette (John) Hendricks, Barbara (Tony) Romano, and Margaret (Tary) Blair; grandchildren, Laura Mitchell, Diana Higgins, Thomas Hendricks, Meredith Pahel, Capt. Vincent Romano USAF, Nicole Burns, Michelle Ziegler, SSgt. Jeffrey Hendricks,USMC, and Joanne Romano; and great grandchildren, Stephen Mitchell, Brandon Wells, Aiden Ziegler, Andrew Ziegler, Brianna Higgins, Tyler Hendricks, Travis Hendricks, Gianna Burns and Faith Hendricks. She is also survived by her brothers, Tony (Theresa) Bosico, Nicholas (Ann) Bosico, and sister, Cecilia (John) Abrams.The family will receive friends on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at Michael J. Higgins Funeral Home, 321 S. Main St., New City, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Saturday 10am at St. Anthony's Church in Nanuet, NY with burial to follow at St. Anthony's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Nanuet Fire Department or one's own favorite charity in Josephine's memory.
