

June D. Niblo (Madden) of Nanuet, New York, 91 years old, passed away peacefully at home on November 11th, 2021. June was a long-time resident of Nanuet, moving from Valley Stream NY in 1960. She was born September 10th, 1930 in Astoria, Queens to her parents John and Lillian (Jerome) Madden. She met the love of her life, “Johnny”, while working at Stern’s Department store in NYC. They often enjoyed dancing at Tavern on the Green, and a night out on the town attending Broadway shows together. They married in Astoria NY in 1952. She was a pillar in the Rockland County community and, seemingly, there was not a soul who did not know and love June. She was known for her warm smile and ability to find a friend in everyone. Some of her outstanding qualities include her kindness, her faith, and ability to remember the smallest details about a person. She kept a busy schedule with the Red Hats, Senior’s Club, St. Francis Church, West Nyack Swim Club, and the many people she befriended. She be will be missed and is survived by her children Linda Stewart (Bob deceased), Kevin Niblo (Sue), John E. Niblo, Cathleen Niblo (Sean), Mariann Niblo, Doreen Smith (Steve), her niece Dawn (Koshinsky) Ng (Johnny), her brother-in-law Charlie Finlayson, her beloved grandchildren, Lauren (Albert), Jonathan, Keri (Eric), Kyle (Liz), Kristi (Jerry), Nicole (Maxwell), Cassidy, Audrey (deceased), Glenn and great grandchildren Calvin, Barrett, and Finn, and many other nieces, nephews, lifelong friends, her dear friends Terry King, Rose Reveil, Trudy and Brian Doherty and their daughters Aideen, Jackie, Fiona, and Hannah. She has been joyfully reunited with her husband, Johnny, and her granddaughter, Audrey, and many members of the Madden, Niblo, and Jerome families.
Family will receive friends on Monday from 3 to 7pm at Higgins funeral home in New City, New York. Mass of Christian burial will be on Tuesday at 10AM at Saint Francis of Assisi in West Nyack NY, followed by internment at Saint Anthony’s cemetery Nanuet NY.
