Kathleen and Thomas were members of St. Anthony's Parish in Nanuet and were very involved in the church community. Kathleen was a member of the Blessed Mother's Sodality, and had a special devotion to Mary. Once her youngest child was in school, Kathleen pursued an Associate's Degree to fulfill her lifelong desire of becoming a nurse. At a time when most people are looking towards retirement, Kathleen began her nursing career first at Tolstoy Nursing Home, and for almost 20 years, as an emergency room nurse at Pascack Valley Hospital, a job she loved. After retirement from the hospital, she continued her caring ways as a community nurse administering flu shots, and also visiting the homebound through her church. She became a member of Nanuet II Seniors Group and St. Anthony's Senior Group, enjoying the many trips. She also resumed bowling at the Pearl River Lanes as a member of the 'Alley Oops'. Kathleen loved her vacations on Long Beach Island, with her favorite time of day being after her husband Tom took the kids home to prepare dinner, and she could read her book in peace and watch the sunset. Kathleen is predeceased by her husband Thomas, and her siblings Edward, Peggy, George, and Joe. She is survived by her children Thomas(Susan), Richard, Robert(Patty) and MaryPat(David), and her grandchildren Thomas, Brian, Danielle, Ryan, Kiersten, Ryan and Heather, and her many nieces and nephews. She was kindhearted and a source of love and support to her immediate and extended family, whatever their needs might be. She will be sorely missed by all who knew her. The family wish to thank her longtime friend and hairdresser, Nanette, who continued to style Kathleen's hair every two weeks without fail once Kathleen could no longer drive. The family also wish to thank the staff on 2 Doctors at Nyack Hospital who were so kind and compassionate to Kathleen and her family during her last days.
