Kathleen Mary Kubik, 81, passed away surrounded by her loved ones, on Friday, August 1, 2025, the day of her 60th wedding anniversary.
Born on May 5, 1944 in Brooklyn, the only child of Alphonse and Elizabeth (Grace) Anderocci, she grew up in Woodhaven where she met the love of her life, Richard. After a brief stint at FIT she worked as a secretary supporting Richy during his medical studies and while he was stationed in Vietnam. Kathleen was a champion bridge player, a lover of golden retrievers and a world traveller who loved cruises. She was a catechist with St. Francis of Assisi Church for many years. She was also the co-founder of Claire's Cove, St. Francis' thrift shop, and started the Thanksgiving food drive. Kathleen was also heavily involved in and an integral part of the building of the new St. Francis church. She was an author of two books, Neither Sand Nor Sea and The Autumn of Her Years, winning the Library Association of Rockland County's Annual Book of the Year Award in 2017. Her greatest joy in life were her two daughters and three grandchildren who she would do anything for. She was a wonderful wife, mother, nonna and friend and was loved by all who knew her.
Kathleen is survived by her husband Richard, their daughters Allison (Ben) Reiss of West Nyack and Kerri (Scott) Barsamian of New City and her three cherished grandchildren: Stephanie, Christopher and Sean.
