Kathleen A. Murphy

Kathleen A. Murphy, June 3, 1930 – December 30, 2024 Kathleen Ann Murphy (nee Brennan) of New York City passed away peacefully on December 30, 2024 surrounded by her family.

Kathleen was born in New York City to Margaret and Hugh Jordan. She is survived by her three children, Gene Murphy (Catherine), Kathy Corbett (Franny), Laureen Whalen (George). She is also survived by her six grandchildren, Lauren, Erin, Meghan, Kristen, Katie, and Michael, her ten great grandchildren, sister in-law Margaret Jordan, and many loving nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased in death by her loving husband of fifty-two years, Eugene Murphy (Genie- the love of her life). She was the cherished sister of the late Mary Rowe, Michael Jordan, and John Jordan. She worked at Teachers College Columbia University for over 30 years. She was a long time parishioner of Corpus Christi Church.

The family will receive relatives and friends on Friday, January 3, 2024 at Higgins Funeral Home in New City from 4pm – 8pm. A mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, January 4, 2024 at 10:55am, at Corpus Cristi Church, followed by interment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Valhalla, NY. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her memory to Corpus Cristi Church 529 West 121 st St. New York, NY 10027.
