Louis C. Bory

Louis C. Bory, of Valley Cottage, NY passed away peacefully in his home, surrounded by family, on May 22, 2026.

He is survived by his wife Alice (Starnes), two daughters, Laura and Vanessa; son-in-law Tim, and his two beloved grandchildren, Olivia and Connor.

He was born in New York City to George and Rose Bory (Hume) on December 8, 1941, and was raised in Brooklyn. On a beautiful summer day in 1963 he met the love of his life, Alice, at Rockaway Beach.

In 1966 he served in the US Army, stationed at Fort Hood, Texas. Alice and Lou got married in 1970 and moved to Rockland County several years later where they grew their beautiful family.

He began his career as an Aircraft Mechanic but retired as a Manager for the New York City Transit Authority after nearly 30 dedicated years.

A Mr. Fix-it, a Jack of All Trades, a protector, a provider, and most importantly a proud and devoted Papa; he cherished spending time with his family, and treated others with the utmost respect.

A nature lover, he enjoyed gardening, visiting the National Parks, camping, swimming and ice skating. He had a love of music, history, old films, John Wayne, and his dogs Specky and Pumpkin, and he instilled family traditions that will be passed down for generations.

He leaves behind a legacy of love unmatched and will forever be missed.

The Funeral Mass will be held at St Paul's Church, Congers on June 8, 2026 at 10am.The family requests that the burial remain private.
