Louise Hewitt

Louise A Hewitt of New City, NY, 82 Years old passed away peacefully on January 5, 2022. Louise was a 58 year resident of New City. She was born November 14, 1939 in Indiana Pa, and lived in Clymer Pa until her teens and then moved to New York City where she met the love of her life and husband Edward M Hewitt. The couple married in 1961 and resided in the Bronx NY until moving to a new home in New City NY in 1963.

Louise studied Nursing and received her BA in Nursing from Rockland Community College and spent her nursing career at Pascack Valley Hospital in North Jersey until her retirement. Louise’s time throughout her life was dedicated to her family. A loving mother, Louise is survived by her children Gregory and Kathleen Hewitt, Jane and Tom Schlappich and Kyle and Janet Hewitt as well as her beloved grandchildren ; Katie, Amanda, Will , Chris, Kyle , Sean and Matt. Mom was the driving force behind many wonderful vacations at Long Beach Island NJ, making sure there was always a place for everyone to stay while at the shore. This was perhaps one of her greatest joys and to this day her family continues to enjoy summer at LBI because of her. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her and by those whose lives she touched.

Family will receive friends on Wednesday January 12, 2022 from 9 to 11am at Higgins Funeral Home 321 S. Main St New City NY 10956 A memorial service will be Held at 11 am at the funeral home with burial to follow at St. Anthony's Cemetery, Nanuet NY.
