Lucia Estrella passed away on November 26, 2014. She was 95 years old. Lucia was born in Peru on June 25, 1919 to Victoriano and Estela (Cardenas) Estrella. She was a long time resident of Thorpe Village and Nyack Manor Nursing Home. Lucia was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She enjoyed cooking, crocheting, knitting and gardening but her greatest joys came from her family. She is survived by her three children: Luis Paz, Esther Fuld, and Griselda Guzman; her brother Pedro Hinostroza and her sisters Rosa Hinostroza and Consuelo Hinostroza, as well as numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be missed by all who knew her. Lucia is now with God watching over her whole family and smiling down on them. Family will receive friends on Friday from 2-4 & 7-9pm at Higgins Funeral Home in New City. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, 10am, at St. Paul's Church, Congers, followed by interment at Gethsemane Cemetery, Rockland Lake, Congers, NY.
