Lucille was born in the Bronx, NY on 2/27/1939. She had 4 brothers and was nicknamed “SIS” which is what everyone has called her whole life. She was a single parent that worked for over 30 years at Xerox Corporation in NYC to support her children.
In her younger days, she enjoyed hosting holidays for family, having friends over or sitting outside on Villa Ave waiting for Mister Softee at night. She loved having a pot of coffee and a kettle of tea on the stove to share with her many friends and neighbors which she did throughout her life.
Some of Sis’ favorite things to do were baking cookies and making chocolate candies with her grandchildren and nieces and nephews and buying them the noisiest of toys or stuffed animals! She enjoyed making trays of goodies for family and friend’s special events. Sis also loved to be around and involved in the care for babies and young children. That bring her great joy. She loved being aunt Sis to her many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Sis also had a sharp mind and loved to play Scrabble and do the Word Jumble in the newspaper daily.
She was loved by many and will be missed. We are grateful that her pain and suffering are over and she is at peace. Special thanks to the staff at Tolstoy Nursing Home in Valley Cottage, NY for the excellent care over the years and to Joseph Raso Hospice in New City, NY for providing a peaceful and tranquil environment with the most compassionate care.
