(DeGuglielmo) Siconolfi in Guardia de Lombardia, Italy. Luigi was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle, brother, cousin, and friend. Luigi is survived by his loving wife Saveria(DeRosa), his daughters Antoniette (Daniel) Grijalva, and Luisa (Michael) Heim. His grandchildren Michael, Nicholas, Ella and Paige were the lights of his life. He is also survived by his 3 brothers Antonio (Giuseppa), Gerardo (predeceased by Lisa), And Celestino (Angela). Loving uncle to many nieces and nephews along with many cousins.
In 1971, Luigi migrated to the United States with his family and settled in Mount Vernon, New York. He worked a variety of jobs to help support his family. Soon after, he began working for Reliable Automatic Sprinklers where he quickly was promoted to supervisor.
In 1974 he met Saveria Derosa, the love of his life, and shortly thereafter they were married. Luigi and Saveria had 2 daughters Antoniette and Luisa. In 1989 Luigi moved his family to their dream home in New City, NY. Luigi took a risk and decided to to go into the restaurant business. He successfully opened Luigi’s Italian Tradition in Newark, NJ where he just celebrated 25 years of making some of the most delicious Italian dishes. If you were blessed enough to have met our dad you would know he was a man who gave all that he could and expected nothing in return.
He loved celebrating holidays to the fullest and it brought him joy to decorate his home for us and everyone around us to enjoy. We could always count on him to make us laugh and to bring our family together. There wasn’t a problem he couldn’t fix whether it was a faulty hot water heater or a shoulder to lean on.
He instilled family values and taught us many life lessons that we will now carry with us in our hearts forever. He was the peacemaker, the jokester, the voice of reason, and he was always one step ahead of us. To know him was to love him and he be missed tremendously. This last year was not an easy one but you remained strong and positive despite all the obstacles you had to endure. How lucky we are to have someone who makes saying goodbye so hard. We thank you for your unconditional love and selfless acts of kindness not only for your family but for all.
