Margaret Devine of Spring Valley, affectionately known as Peggy, passed away peacefully on June 7, 2024 with her family by her side. She was 78 years old. Born in Woodside, Queens NY to Peter & Bridie (Kiernan) Devine. She is survived by her eldest brother James (Mary) and her twin brother Peter (Barbara), nieces Alice, Sheila, Noreen and nephews Daniel and Justin. She was predeceased by her sister Betty (George) Nicholson.
Margaret has been a resident of New City, NY and joined the Jawonio family in 1973 where she excelled in many activities and won a Gold medal in Special Olympics. She loved going to ‘shop’ and later managing the softball team. Margaret was a resident of The Tendler House and Jawonio Community Living Services since 2004 and made many life long friends with the residents and staff.
