Martin Feldi

Martin Feldi of New City, NY, passed away peacefully on July 23, 2024, at the age of 86. He was born to Ignaz and Anna Feldi in Krndija, what was then Yugoslavia, now Croatia. From there he moved to and lived in Koflach, Austria. At 14 years old, he and his family went to America. At the age of 18 years, he joined the U.S. Army and was stationed in Germany where he met the love of his life and married his beloved Marianne. They had two children, Marco and Karin and lived a beautiful life. He was often heard to say that he had a great life and would not change one thing about it. Marty, as he was called by friends and family, enjoyed golf, soccer, skiing and fishing but his greatest joy of all was his family, especially his four grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Martin is survived by his wife, Marianne, his son Marco Feldi and his wife Patricia; his daughter Karin Hastings and her partner, Anthony; his granddaughter Brittany Setegn and her husband Brandon; his grandson Nickolaus Hastings and his fiancée Marie and his grandsons Anton Feldi and Erik Feldi and is the cherished Opa-Pa of his great granddaughters, Adeline and Avery Setegn. He is also survived by his aunt, Christine Somerkorn and many cousins. Martin was predeceased by his parents, Ignaz and Anna Feldi and his sister, Katherine Feldi. Martin will be truly missed by all.

Family will receive friends and family on Friday, July 26, from 4:30-8:30 pm at Higgins Funeral Home in New City, NY. On Saturday, July 27, there will be will be a short service at 10:00 am at Higgins in New City for friends and family, followed by interment at Gethsemane Cemetery in Congers, NY. Donations can be to the Alzheimer's Association or the American Heart Association.
