Mary Elizabeth Margaret Cunningham Lynch passed away on June 1, 2012, her birthday. She was born in Jackson Heights Queens and moved to Rockland County in 1968. Mary is survived by her three children Eileen and her husband Kevin McDowell, Maryellen Griffin and Patrick; her five grandchildren: Sarah, Liam, Ryan, Michael, and Christopher. She is predeceased by her beloved husband Paddy and cherished brother and sister. Mary earned her associates degree in psychology from Rockland Community College while working for AT&T and taking care of her family. She was an active member of Birthright and volunteered for Meals on Wheels. Mary enjoyed life and always had a joke at the ready. She was a fiercely loyal friend and loving and attentive mother and grandmother. Family will receive friends on Monday from 2-4 & 7-9pm at Higgins Funeral Home in New City. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday, 11:30am at St. Anthony’s Church, Nanuet, NY. Private Cremation to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations to Birthright or Rockland Hospice will be appreciated.
