Mary C. Michello

Mary Michello, of New City passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on July 10, 2012, after a courageous battle with cancer. Mary was born on October 7, 1950 in Bronx, New York. She was a long time resident of New City and touched the lives of many personally and through her nursing career. She worked as a Registered Nurse at Nyack Hospital and at Blythdale Children’s Hospital. Mary will be missed and always remembered as a devoted wife, a beautiful mother, a fun-loving grandmother (“Nanny”) and a caring, wonderful friend to her family and friends.

Mary married Vincent Michello on May 22, 1971. She is survived by her husband Vinny; her children Cheryl and Robert Iorio, Vincent and Laura Michello; seven grandchildren, Victoria, Giuliana, Gabriella and Olivia Iorio, and Vincent, Tommy and Lyla Michello; her sister, Patricia Ciccarone and her brother, John Flanagan.

The family will receive family and friends on Thursday, July 12, 2012 from 7-9PM and on Friday, July 13, 2012 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm at Michael J. Higgins Funeral Home in New City. A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, July 14, 2012 at 10:15AM at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 128 Parrott Road, West Nyack, NY, 10994, followed by interment at St. Anthony’s Cemetery, Nanuet, NY.
