Mary E. Shanahan was born to Raymond and Teresa Hannigan on December 24, 1932 in the Bronx. She died in Valley Hospital in New Jersey on 4/29/2019. She is survived by 3 daughters and their families, including 9 grandchildren and 9 greatgrandchildren.
Mary worked for many years before her retirement as an executive secretary for Guy Carpenter Insurance Co. in the World Trade Center. She enjoyed a long retirement before declining health the last few years of her life.
Family will receive guest on Thursday, May 2th from 2-4pm an 7-9pm at Michael J Higgins Funeral Home; located at 321 South Main St. New City, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10am on Friday, May 3rd at St. Augustine Church in New City. Interment to follow at Rockland Cemetery.
