

Mary Valenza Milone, 99, died peacefully on Monday, April 1, 2019, after a brief illness. She was born in Brooklyn, New York on July 9, 1919, to the late Grace andJoseph Simonelli. Mary was the oldest of three siblings, her two brothers, John Simonelli and Philip Simonelli, predeceased her. She was also predeceased by her husband Vincent “Jimmy” Valenzaand her second husband Stephen Milone.
Mary took great comfort in her strong Roman Catholic Faith. She is survived by her beloved children Ross Valenza of Valrico, Florida and Philip Valenza (Josephine) of Monroe, New York, her cherished grandchildrenVincent (Carol), Sal (Pamela), Ross (Denise), Maria (Stephen) Walker, James (Catherine), Joseph (Christina) and Philip (Krissy) and her adored great-grandchildren Zachary, Stephen, Samantha, Emmanuel “Manny”, Ashley, Victoria, Laura, Emily, Giancarlo, Tiegan,Anthony, Alexa, Christopher and Valerie. Mary was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and aunt. She led an active social life and enjoyed her many friends. She especially enjoyed staying in contact with her children, grandchildren andgreat-grandchildren, and had a significant impact on their lives. Mary was blessed to have had a healthy, meaningful and long-lasting life.
Calling hours will be on Sunday, April 7, 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM at the Higgins Funeral Home, New City, NY. A funeral service will be held at St. Catherine’s Church, Blauvelt, NY on Monday, April 8, at 10 a.m.Burial will be at Rockland Cemetery, Sparkhill, NY.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research or the American Heart Association.
