She was a skilled nurse who provided excellent care in a difficult setting. MaryAnn was a nature lover, a bird watcher, a flower enthusiast and one who loved and cared for animals, especially cats. Hook Mountain in Upper Nyack was always a favorite walking place as she loved walking by the water. Two cross country trips by car across the United States enabled her to see many of the spectacular national parks across our country. She marveled at the unbelievable scenery provided by nature and worried that man would mess it up. She spent many hours bird watching and tending to her many flowers. She was definitely an advocate for animal rights and believed in the sanctity of all life. Cats were in a special category and she had many as pets. She was also active in spaying, neutering and feeding feral cats and some were lucky enough to find their way into her home where all cats were given royal treatment.
