Maryann M. Dowd, 73, passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side on April 29, 2013. Maryann was born on September 25, 1939 in Yonkers, NY. Maryann was most proud of her family, her husband Joseph Dowd of 51 years, with whom she recently renewed their marriage vows, and takes pride in her children Tim Dowd, Jamie Dowd, and Susan Dowd Mangan.
She will be missed by her grandchildren Lauren, Ryan, Lindsay, Aedan, Isabella, and Ayla. Maryann is also survived by her sisters Patricia Mandarano of New Rochelle, NY and Victoria West from Rochester, NY.
Maryann was a great gourmet chef, and an avid dancer. She loved to horseback ride with her daughter, attended all her children's sporting activities and just spending quality time with her family. Family will receive friends on Wednesday and Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9pm at Higgins Funeral Home in New City, NY. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, 10am, at St. Anthony's Church followed by interment at St. Anthony's Cemetery, Nanuet, NY.
