It is with great sadness that we bid farewell to our beloved Uncle Maurice, a truly remarkable man whose kindness, generosity, and warmth touched all who knew him.

We cherish the happy memories of the summers spent together as cousins and our visits to New York, where Maurice always welcomed us with exceptional hospitality. He shared a close bond with my father and through them, our family ties grew even stronger.

Maurice was a man of great integrity, meticulous, thoughtful and deeply compassionate. His wisdom, quiet strength, and willingness to help others will always be remembered.

On a personal level, I will miss Maurice more than words can express. Our regular FaceTime conversations have come to an end, but the love an laughter we shared will remain with me forever. He will always hold a special place in my heart.We are truly grateful to have had Maurice in our lives. His legacy lives on in the love he shared, the memories he created and the family he cherished so deeply.

May he rest in eternal peace.

My memories with you are few but truly memorable. We met at the wedding of my sister Laura and her husband Bill. We chatted one summer afternoon in 2015, and you asked me if I would ever emigrate to the United States. You shared your story of how you arrived in America and how the United States Army trained you. You told me this with immense pride in all the opportunities and skills you acquired during that period of your life. We completely agreed on family matters and the profound importance of being with the ones you love.

It is with great sadness that we, the family of your late wife Rosemary have learned of the passing of Maurice Buckley.  Maurice never forgot the ancestral home in Ballyharry County Donegal  of his late wife Rosemary who passed away in March 1980.  Maurice returned with his children , his surviving wife Arlene, and his grandchildren for four decades. The Donegal family were very proud to bring Arlene into the clan. Maurice was a regular communicator with the family in Donegal, Glasgow and London by phone and mail over these decades.
Many a family wedding, gathering and meal was had with Maurice and Arlene in Donegal. Maurice will always be remembered for his very admirable dedication to the legacy of his late wife Rosemary and her Donegal family over all the years. And now for the future may the legacy that was cultivated by Maurice Buckley continue to live on in his descendants. May he rest in peace.
