Michele Ciancaglini

Michele Ciancaglini, age 91, of New City, NY passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 1, 2023. Michele was born in Furci, Italy to Nicola Ciancaglini and Emilia Riccione. He learned the art of welding from his father-in-law. He immigrated to the United States in 1961 where he worked as an iron worker for Local Union 455 for over 35 years. When he was younger, Michele loved going to the beach with his family, fishing with his friends, and traveling. He also enjoyed listening to Italian music and was an avid fan of soccer. After he retired, he spent time tending to his vegetable garden and going to the gym. Michele was a loving husband, father, brother, and friend. He will be remembered for his kindness and smile. He leaves behind his daughter Emilia, son-in-law Robert, his two sisters Rosina and Maria, and his brother Tonino. He will be lovingly remembered by his brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws, numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was predeceased by his loving wife Maria and his sister Teresa. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Family will receive visitors on Friday, April 14, 2023 from 4pm to 8pm at Michael Higgins Funeral Home, 321 S. Main Street, New City, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Saturday, April 15, 2023 at 10am, at St. Augustine Church in New City, NY.

Donations in Michele’s memory may be made to the American Diabetes Association or the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
