Nancy Emily Stahl, 67, of New City, passed away on Thursday July 16, 2020. She was predeceased by her parents, Donald Abrahamsen and Mary Lewis; siblings, Rod Abrahamsen, Linda Manning and baby Carol Abrahamsen; half-brother Marcos Abrahamsen; and nephew, Jeremy Manning.

An avid reader, Nancy enjoyed her long career in the publishing industry. She also loved visiting lighthouses, singing with her daughter in the car and watching the sun rise on the beach. Her greatest passions were list-making, arguing about politics and Christmas time. She found great profundity and joy in art, the ocean and her favorite poems. And she wanted nothing more than to make holidays and milestones memorable and special for the people she loved.

She is survived by her husband, Klaus; her daughter, Samantha; her niece, Jennifer ; her step-mother, Cecilia and husband John; Pat, Marilyn and the whole Abrahamsen family; her extended Stahl family; and her best friend, Eve.

Dear Nancy, on this sad occasion I am recalling the happy time when Cecilia and I we’re getting married and I first met you and your family. I was so happy that you, Klaus, and Samantha came to Tallahassee to share in our joyful experience. And, I am happy for the times we had together in New York. These are the things I will remember, not the sadness and grief that are surrounding all of us at this time.

Dear Nancy, thank you for being part of my life. You made it brighter and richer for being the vibrant, smart, beautiful and generous person you were. Thank you, also, for giving me a beautiful and loving granddaughter. You parted way too soon. I miss you, love and cherish you forever.
