On Friday October 19, 2018 Nicholas Koda, our beloved son, passed away suddenly at age 29. He is survived by his parents, Deborah LaBounty Koda and Steven Koda, his sister Jessica and nephew Dameon, his uncles Larry and Mark (Glenda), and cousins Grayson and Georgia.
Nick resided in New City and raised in Bainbridge Island, Washington. He graduated with a degree in Communications from the Delta College at SUNY Brockport, and was a member of Delta Sigma fraternity (Zeta Psi).
He was a member of the International Cinematographers Guild. Nick learned his craft through an internship with ARRI rental, and worked in the camera department for various productions, most recently Three Christs, The Americans, The Commuter, The Sinner, Gotham, Billions, Doubt, Wonderstruck, and The Comedian. Nick was writing a screenplay.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday October 27, 2018 at Higgin’s Funeral Home at 321 South Main Street, New City, NY. Visitation: 2-3pm. Service: 3pm.
