Nicoletta Derasmo

Nicoletta Derasmo of New City, NY, 85 years old, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on August 25th, 2023. She is survived by her three Sons Joseph, Nicholas, Anthony (wife Arlene), and her grandchildren Daniel (wife Sarah), Sandra and Michael and Great Grandson Vincent. She is also survived by her sisters, Francis and Antoinette, sister in-laws Angie and Angela. She was predeceased in death by her loving husband of 55 years, Joseph Anthony Derasmo, sisters Rose, Marie and bothers Joseph and Vito. She cherished her time spent with family especially with her grandchildren who all have made her very proud along with her loving nieces and nephews.

Nicoletta was born in Bari, Italy to Nicola and Rosa Volpe on January 8th, 1938. Nicoletta was the backbone of the family as she supported her husband’s career and raised three children. She was the head seamstress for Morilee Wedding Apparel where she loved doing what she did best, bringing dress designs to life and seeing the fruits of her labor bring happiness in people’s lives.

Wake and visitation will be on Tuesday August 29th from 2PM to 4PM and 7PM to 9PM at Higgins Funeral Home at 321 South Main Street New City, NY.

A funeral mass will be held on Wednesday August 30th, at 10 AM at Saint Augustine Parish 140 Maple Ave, New City N.Y followed by a entombment at Saint Anthony’s Cemetery in Nanuet.
