My Dear Aunt Nieves personified all the attributes described in Psalm 31. She repeatedly gave unconditional love and support to her family, placing their needs and concerns above her own.
Verses 10-31 exemplify her altruistic character traits. Most noteworthy are the following verses:
“Who can find a virtuous and capable wife, for her worth is far above jewels .The heart of her husband trusts in her, and he will have no lack of gain. She does him good and not evil all the days of her life.. She gets up before dawn to prepare breakfast for her household; She is energetic and strong, a hard worker. She is clothed with strength and dignity. When she speaks her words are wise and give instructions with kindness. She carefully watches everything in her household and suffers nothing from laziness. Her children stand call her blessed.. Her husband praises her. Let her deeds publicly declare her praise”.
As I reflect on her unselfish dedication to her husband and family I am reminded of the bible verse in Galatians 6:9 “ Do not grow weary in doing good, for in due time you will reap the harvest if we don’t give up” For these reasons, I believe Aunt Nieves has earned her reward in heaven.
