Pellegrino is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Maria, and his adoring daughter, Doriana. He is remembered by his sister-in-law, nieces and nephews, great nephews and many friends. He is predeceased by his parents and his daughter, Daniella.
Pellegrino was born in Italy on February 12, 1952 to Filomena and Giuseppe Rossi. In 1967, he and his family moved to the United States. His love for his homeland never diminished and he spent many summers visiting Italy with his family.
Pellegrino was a devoted family man and a very special friend to many. He was a hard worker and worked as a custodian and pizza man along with being a school bus driver for 32 years. He truly enjoyed living a full life and had an infectious smile. He didn’t sweat the small stuff and had a big heart, always going above and beyond for friends, family, and strangers alike.
Pellegrino had many passions in life including fishing, winemaking, building things, making pizza, gardening, painting, playing cards, and fixing anything that was broken. He had hands made of gold; he was a jack of all trades. He took pleasure in watching sports, especially the Napoli soccer team and the Baltimore Orioles.
He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.
Pellegrino's family will receive relatives and close friends for visitation on Sunday from 3-6pm, and remaining friends, cousins, and coworkers from 6-7pm at Higgins Funeral Home in New City, NY. Mindful of Covid-19 precautions, masks, social distancing, and monitored capacity will be observed throughout. Mass service will be held privately at St. Anthony's Parish, Nanuet.
