Peter S. Cleary

Peter S. Cleary of Nanuet passed away on April 5, 2016. He was born in the Bronx on December 22, 1948 to Peter and Barbara (Basler) Cleary. He married his wife Kathleen in June of 1970 at St. Raymond’s Church in the Bronx.

Peter was a graduate of Iona College in New Rochelle. He was a math teacher and Dean of Students at Macombs JHS 82 in the Bronx for over 25 years. Peter was an avid sports collector and Yankee fan; he enjoyed old movies, traveling, dining out, and spending time with his family.

Peter was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother, with a big heart, a sharp wit, and a generous soul.

Peter is survived by his wife Kathleen and their two daughters, Jennifer and husband Michael Duda of Brooklyn, NY, and Allyson and husband Cristian Medina of Chester, NY. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Gabrielle and Cristian Peter Medina, and Sophia Duda. Peter was predeceased by his brother Thomas Cleary in 2004 and his sister Laureen Bogdan in 2015.

Visiting will be held at Higgins Funeral Home in New City on Friday, April 8 from 2-4 and 7-9pm. A mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Anthony’s Church in Nanuet at 10am on Saturday, April 9, followed by interment at St. Anthony’s Cemetery.
