

Peter was born on August 30, 1938, in The Bronx, New York. He was the firstborn of Vito and Rose Vetere. Peter is survived by his beloved wife, Ana; his cherished sister, Grace Buonocore; his nephew, Ernest Buonocore (Jennifer); his niece, Camille Sullivan (Kevin); his great-nieces, Stephanie and Alexa; and his great-nephew, Kevin. He will also be remembered fondly by countless friends and family members.
Peter selflessly served in the United States Marine Corps from 1958 to 1963. He continued his service to the community as a member of the New York City Police Department, where he proudly served for 20 years. Following his retirement, Peter pursued many endeavors, including teaching. He also enjoyed a successful business partnership with his late brother-in-law, Dominic Buonocore.
Peter was a cheerful man with a remarkable ability to make anyone around him laugh. He was a gifted storyteller, an attentive listener, and, above all, a humble man. Peter was always the first to celebrate the achievements of others while never seeking the spotlight for himself.
Peter will be deeply missed, but his enduring legacy of love for his family, friends, and country will live on. His compassion, kindness, and generosity will continue to be reflected in the countless lives he touched.
