Rocco F. Torterello passed away on October 8, 2011, with his family at his side. He was born in the Bronx on February 17, 1927 to Rocco and Antoinette. Rocco proudly served his country in the Navy during WWII. He was a 34 year veteran of the NYPD. Rocco loved spots, gardening, and most of all spending time with his family.
Rocco is survived by his loving wife of 62 years Helen and their children Laura and her husband Robert Tenteromano, Robert and his wife Christina, and Dean and his wife Lynda. He will be missed dearly by his grandchildren Erica, Sabrina, Michael, Joseph, Gary, Ronald, and Tiffany. Rocco is predeceased by his son Gary. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews.
Family will receive friends on Tuesday from 2-4 &7-9pm at the Higgins FS, New City. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, 10:15am at St. Francis of Assisi Church, West Nyack. Burial to follow at Brick Church Cemetery, New Hempstead. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to American Stroke Association , P.O.
