
He was born on July 3, 1944 in Bicol, Philippines. Aspiring to be a doctor, he received his medical degree at Far Eastern University in 1971.
He immigrated from the Philippines to the United States in 1976. He became a Board-Certified Surgeon in 1984 and worked St. Barnabas Hospital in the Bronx, Elmhurst Hospital in Queens and was Assistant Professor of Surgery at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mt. Sinai Hospital in New York City.
Affectionately known as “Dr. T,” he was loved for his friendly and lighthearted demeanor. He dedicated his life to medicine, service and saving lives, with a medical career spanning over 45 years.
He also enjoyed listening to Andrea Bocelli and reading about world history, though his greatest joys came from being with his family.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Grace Torrecampo; his son Rommel Torrecampo and wife Egle Bylaite and their daughter, Sophia; his daughter Nicole Torrecampo - Cheung and husband, Marco and their children, Logan, Xander and Scarlett; in addition to his two brothers and sister, and their families. He will be missed by all those who knew him.
