Rollin C. Downey Jr.

Rollin C, Downey Jr., known to most as Buddy, a longtime resident of Suffern, NY, passed away peacefully in his home on February 24, 2026, at the age of 80.

Buddy was a devoted husband. He was predeceased by his wife, Maureen, which they shared 58 years together as they built a life of love, laughter, and cherished moments.

He is survived by his children and grandchildren. His four children, Dawn Naimon and her husband Randy, Kathleen Downey, John Downey and his wife Michele, and Brian Downey. His legacy continues through his grandchildren, Lauren (Chris), Eric (Samantha), Mikenna (Jessie), Walter, Chris, Tiffany, Sean, and Nicky and great grandchildren, Alex, Matthew, and Giuliana. He is also survived by his sisters, Carol and Ann, who held a special place in his heart.

Buddy proudly served his country as Sergeant First Class Technician in the Army National Guard for over 18 years.

Buddy was a man who enjoyed music, family game nights, sports, poker, pool, and horse racing. He loved sharing jokes, making up funny songs, and making people laugh.

Buddy will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His vibrant spirit will remain in the hearts of his family and friends forever.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 28th from 3pm to 7 pm at Michael J. Higgins Funeral Services, 321 South Main Street, New City, NY.

A private cremation to follow.
