

Ronald G. McCormack, resident of Nyack, NY passed away after a long battle with cancer on October 10, 2015. He was born on November 3, 1944 in Paterson, NJ. Ron graduated from Roanoke College and received his Law degree from the University of Tennessee. He started his early law career at McCormack & Damiani in New City, NY and was partner at McCormack & Phillips in Nyack since 1983. Ron was a member of American Academy of Matrimonial Attorneys and Attorney for the Child. He was a dedicated and active member of the community. Ron served on the Boards for Hospice of Rockland County and RCADD and was contributor to the Nyack Chamber of Commerce as well as several organizations. His love of adventure was sailing on the Hudson. He was a member of the Nyack Boat Club since 1988. He currently served on the Board of Governors and was an active member of the Lightning Fleet. Ron was a gifted writer and poet. He shared his love of history to anyone who would listen. He enjoyed many wonderful moments and traditions with his wife, children, grandchildren, and dog Maisie in the Catskills. Ron is predeceased by his parents F. Ronald McCormack and Helen (Stange) McCormack. He is survived by his beloved wife Peggy Milone McCormack of Nyack, NY; daughter Jessika (David) Ramie; son Ron; Jenny (Greg) Biddy; stepchildren Victor Gonzalez (Daina), Christine Hogan (Nick), and Andrea Longueira; and brothers Peter (Susan) and James (Barbara). He is also survived by and was known as “Peepa” to his treasured grandchildren: Allora, Skylar, Kayla, Michael, Erika, Roman, Leo, Nickolas, Jack, Emma, Luke, and Blake. Family will receive visitors on Monday, October 12, 2015 from 7-9pm and on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9pm. A service will take place at Grace Episcopal Church, Nyack, NY on Wednesday at 10:30am followed by interment at Gethsemane Cemetery in Congers, NY.
