Rose Abate

Nanuet, NY- Rose Abate of Nanuet, NY. Passed away on January 31, 2020 at the age of 93, with her sons by her side. She was born in The Bronx, NY and lived in New City /Nanuet NY, since 1959. She is leaving us to join her husband Rudolph and her daughter Adele in Heaven. She is survived by her two sons Rudolph (wife Cindy), and Vincent; 8 Grandchildren Rudolph, Kathleen, Eric, Matthew, Christina, Vincent Jr., Melissa, Joey; 3 Great Grandchildren Dominick, Jacelyn, and Oliver. She was dearly loved by her family and friends.

She was a day care worker at the then New City Bowling Center and at the Robert Yeager Health Complex. She was an avid BINGO player. She belonged to two of the community’s senior citizens clubs. As well as being the club’s secretary. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, baking, and knitting. She was known for bringing her Christmas cookies to friends and neighbors.

In remembrance and celebration of her life, the family will accept visitors on Thursday February 6, 2020 at the Michael J. Higgins Funeral Service, Inc. 321 S. Main Street, New City, NY. 10956 from 2-4:00 pm and then 7-9:00 pm. There will be a full mass on Friday February 7, 2020 at St. Augustine Catholic Church 114 S Main Street New City NY 10956 at 10:00 am.
