

Rose Caramanica, 92, longtime resident of Nanuet, NY, passed away peacefully early on Monday May 11, 2015. A Brooklyn girl born January 18, 1923 to Rocco and Teresa Bruzzese, she worked as a seamstress contributing to the war effort by making uniforms for service men. Later, she married her lifelong love, Francesco Caramanica on April 11, 1948. A dedicated wife and mother of three boys, she was an active member of Saint Sebatians Catholic Church in Woodside, Queens for many years. In retirement, she enjoyed day trips to Atlantic City and traveling with the Nanuet Seniors club. She is survived by her brother Nat (Didi) three sons Frank (Debbie), Robert (Maryellen) and Martin (Sherry). Her Grandchildren Lauren, Christopher (Jenna), Justin (Dana), Clare, Mychelle (Rafael Romero) William (April) and Rose (Jason Anderson); great-grandchildren Tydus, Laila, Rain, Mataya, Isabella and Taylor. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Francesco Caramanica who succumbed to pancreatic cancer on August 2, 1989, and her brother Jim Bruzzese. She will be missed and remembered by all who knew and loved her.Family will receive visitors on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9pm. Mass of Christian burial will take place Friday 11:30am St. Anthony's Parish Church. Interment will follow at St. Anthony's Cemetery.
