Rose Mirro

Rose Mirro long time resident of Nanuet, NY passed away peacefully on December 20, 2019. Rose was born to Luciano and Maria Christina Evangelista of Long Island City on November 22, 1932. After attending St. Mary's School and vocational high school, she married Denny C. Mirro on October 2, 1955. Rose worked at Waldbaums and A&P for 22 years. She always loved to spend time with her family, especially her 11 grandchildren. She enjoyed traveling to many destinations with friends and was a long time parishioner and volunteer at St. Anthony’s in Nanuet. She loved playing scrabble and card games with her grandchildren and senior groups.

Rose is survived by her children Catherine (Frank) Berte, Danny (Lynn) Mirro, Christine Strage, Louis (Kim) Mirro. Her grandchildren – Jessica, Daniel and Stephanie Berte, Christopher, Daniel and Nicole Mirro, Lauramarie and Dominick Strage, Louis, Joseph and Vincent Mirro. She is also survived by her sister, Mary, and nephews, Robert, Peter, Richard and Paul D’Addario. She is predeceased by her husband, Denny, and her grandson, Anthony.

Visitation will be Sunday at Michael Higgins Funeral Home, 321 S. Main St., New City, NY between 3:00 and 9:00. Monday Mass at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church 36 W. Nyack Rd., Nanuet, NY.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
