Russell E. Fitzpatrick

Russell Edward Fitzpatrick entered peacefully into heaven on September 1, 2010 with his loving family by his side. He was born January 29, 1942 in Brooklyn, NY to John and Ruth Fitzpatrick. Russell has been a Valley Cottage resident for 43 years and prior lived in Yonkers, NY. Russell married his high school sweetheart, Judith Andersen, in 1962 and had 4 beautiful children. He owned and operated an Arnold Bread franchise for over 30 years. Russell was also a veteran of the U.S. Army. He loved the NY Yankees and was an avid NY Giants fan. He coached the Valley Cottage Indians and the Nyack Valley Cottage Little League for over 10 years. His greatest joy above anything else was spending time with his family. Russell is survived by his loving wife, Judy; daughters Kristin Callan and her husband John, Barbara Beebe and her husband Kurt, and Jackie Meyers and her husband Shawn; and his son Russell Fitzpatrick and his wife Mindi; his 10 grandchildren: Amanda, Alexis, Hannah, Abigail, Jared, Luke, Max, Karlee, Jack and Jordan; his father John Fitzpatrick and his sister Jane Caddis. He is predeceased by his mother, Ruth Fitzpatrick, and his sister, Jacqueline Fitzpatrick. Visiting will be held at the Higgins Funeral Home in New City, NY on Friday, September 3, 2010 from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. Services will be private.
