Working in Facilities as a security guard, Sheila was my comrade at arms since February of 2012. We shared conversations of our loved ones and supported each other. Those are the moments that I will miss dearly. Her commitment to Graymoor was unprecedented.  I recall her giving me a call at 7:30 am (her shift started at 9 am) asking me what car service we recommended, as her car wouldn't start this past December. She chose not to be late or miss work this was her MO.  She would come early to set up and leave late talking to her friends, clients, staff and retreants that were seeking her sincere thoughts.  One of Sheila’s responsibilities was to communicate with me for issues pertaining to the Friars. She would put aside our cordial working relationship when I messed up (for the record only a few times :) ) and lambast me for no one messes with her Friars. Believe me those mishaps would never occur again.  Her devotion and love to her mother and daughter showed the type of person she was.
I will miss seeing you at the Welcome Center Sheila; you have given me great memories, rest in peace.


Sheila warmly greeted everyone entering the Graymoor building.  She will surely be missed.  Sincerest condolences to the family for your loss.  May you find strength in each other during this saddest of times.

It always gave me peace of mind when I knew Sheila was working the desk at the visiting center.  She was dedicated to her job and that was something  I appreciated.   I thought she was a nice person and I will miss her.  I want to extend my deepest sympathies and hope that her family finds some peace in this difficult time.

I am so sorry to hear of Sheila's passing.  She was always so kind and caring to me at Graymoor.  When I was pregnant with my little guy she would ask me every day how I was feeling, and when I returned from maternity leave, she was so happy for baby updates.  She had a way of making you feel noticed, which is something special in a crazy busy World.  I hope that she is at peace now and resting comfortably in Heaven.

Shelia,  It was my pleasure to be greeted by your warmth, your smile and your kindness whenever I arrived at Graymoor. You were a very wonderful friend and always took care of me, calling for a cart, asking about my drive to the Holy Mountain and sharing stories of your day...Kindness is a gift that you shared with so many people, making them feel welcome and sending them on their way. 
May you rest gently now, out of harms way, and at peace in heaven.

I was so sorry to hear first of Sheila's illness,then passing. My deepest condolences to her family. Sheila was a pleasure to work with, I have missed her since she left due to her illness. I will continue to miss our conversations and her warm heart. Kathy Marino

Sheila will be greatly missed at Graymoor.  She was the first person to greet us in the morning and at the end of the day to offer us a fond, "have a nice evening and a safe drive home".  She made a difference in my life as someone who would take the time to listen, or comment on how the day was going for me. I am very sorry for your loss.

Dear family, Sheila was the first person I met when I interviewed at the Friars.  I remember coming in to the lobby and feeling really nervous and she immediately put me at ease.  We had such a great conversation and she was one of the reasons that I joined the organization.  I could tell how special she was and she was so nice to me.   Little did I know then, that Reception would report to me, so for almost two years I had the pleasure and honor of working with Sheila.  She was such a hard worker and knew everything about Graymoor plus she kept the reception area running so smoothly, I never even had to worry about anything.  She had a great sense of humor —-and strength of character that shone through.  She cared so much about the friars and her colleagues and the feeling was mutual.  We have included all of you in our prayers at Graymoor and will hold a special memorial for her when the world returns to normal again.
