Stephen C. Danko

Stephen C. Danko, 93, of Congers, NY passed away on January 3rd, 2022 with his family at his side. Stephen was born and raised in Congers, NY, to Rose and Stephen P. Danko. Stephen was a graduate of Congers High School where he was a decorated All County sportsman, including baseball, basketball, and soccer.

While not serving in the military in the Korean War, or working for the A&P where he spent the majority of his career, Stephen was a loving father and grandfather that took an active role in his family’s lives. Stephen was an avid trout fisherman that loved fishing in the Ausable river in the Adirondacks. He loved attending and never missed any of his children and grandchildren’s sporting events, hosting family gatherings and barbecues, and playing pinochle with his family.

Stephen is predeceased by his wife, Bridget Danko, and son, Stephen J. Danko. He is survived by 2 daughters, Nancy Pagano (m. Anthony Pagano) and Lisa Westbrook (m. Raymond Westbrook), and his 3 grandchildren Matthew, Kyle, and Ryan Westbrook.

Mass of Christian burial will take place Saturday, January 8th at 10am at St. Paul’s Church, Congers. Interment will follow at Gethsemane Cemetery, Rockland Lake, NY.
