Theresa Galici (née Rella) passed away peacefully on August 10, 2026, at the age of 91.
Born on July 3, 1935, Theresa was the beloved wife of the late Joseph S. Galici and the loving mother of Anthony (Susan) and Maria Dooley. She was predeceased by her son-in-law, Joseph. Theresa was a devoted grandmother to Joseph (Alexandra), Matthew, Theresa, Marybeth, Elizabeth, and Claire, and was blessed to become a great-grandmother to Luke and Theodore.
Theresa was born in Brooklyn, New York, the youngest of seven children. She spent most of her life in Brooklyn and Queens before moving to Bardonia, New York, in 1999. Most recently, she resided at the Promenade at Blue Hill in Pearl River.
Theresa enjoyed spending time with her family and took great pleasure in preparing homemade pizzas and baking cookies for those she loved. She was also an avid dog lover and especially enjoyed their companionship.
She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her family and all who knew her.
Visitation will be held at Michael J. Higgins Funeral Service Inc., 321 South Main Street, New City, NY 10956, on August 13, 2026, from 8:30 am to 9:30 am.
A Funeral Mass will take place at St. Francis of Assisi, 128 Parrott Rd., West Nyack, NY 10994, on August 13, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am.
Burial will follow at Long Island National Cemetery, 2040 Wellwood Ave, Farmingdale, NY 11735, on August 13, 2026, at 1:30 pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial donations be made to a local animal shelter or food pantry.
