Thomas Jordan,69,passed away peacefully February 17,2011 in the presence of his wife and children. Born August 29,1941 to Thomas Jordan of Kiltimagh, Co. Mayo, Ireland and Theresa (Smith) Jordan of Arva, Co. Cavan, Ireland, Tom was baptized & raised in St. Francis De Sales Parish in Manhattan. He graduated Cardinal Hayes High School, and received his Bachelor's Degree in accounting from Fordham University. He married his wife, Denise (O'Rourke), August 16th 1969, at St. Helena's Church in the Bronx; and together they raised their four children in New City, NY. Tom was proud to have served in the National Guard. For over 20 years he held the positions of Adjutant of American Legion Post #1682 and Chairman of the Rockland County Memorial Day Parade in New City. He was an active member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians, Div. 3 in Pearl River, and had served on the NYC St Patrick's Day Parade Committee. Following a 30 plus year career with Chase Manahattan Bank & Barclay's Bank, Tom enjoyed his retirement "on The Hill" with family and friends at the West Nyack Swim Club. Thomas was predeceased by his parents, Thomas & Theresa Jordan, and his brother Cornelius (Con) Jordan. He is survived by his wife, Denise, and their four children: Stefanie Jordan of Pearl River, NY; Bryan Jordan and his wife Kristine of Hoboken, NJ; Matthew Jordan & his wife Kerry of Hawthorne, NJ; and Hilary Kunz and her husband Ken of Congers, NY. Tom was the beloved "Papa" of Kathleen, Kevin & Kerriann Kunz; and he truly adored his youngest grandchild & namesake Tommy Jordan. He was blessed to have his cousin, Frank Jordan of Middle Village, NY as a friend his entire life. Visiting will be Monday February 21st, 2-4 &7-9 at Higgins Funeral Home in New City, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10am Tuesday, February 22nd at St. Augustine's Church, New City, NY. Burial will follow at Gethsemane Cemetary, Rockland Lake NY.
