Born in the Bronx on May 4, 1954, the 4th child of William and Veronica (nee Lillis) Conklin. The family relocated to Rockland County in 1959 and Ronnie called Lillian Drive home until 2021. She is survived by her three siblings: William of Webster, NY, Joseph of Marion, MA and Mary (Bill) Sussman of Toms River, NJ. Her beloved older sister Anne Marie passed away in 2021, leaving a huge void in Ronnie’s heart. Additionally, she leaves behind five nieces, two nephews, two great-nieces, two great nephews, and many cousins from the Conklin and Lillis clans.
Ronnie graduated from St Joseph’s Elementary School in Spring Vally in 1968; from Albertus Magnus High School in Bardonia in 1972; and from Niagara University in Niagara, NY in 1976 with a BS in Nursing. Her nursing career included dedicated roles in oncology and hospice care. Additionally, she had joined the Daughters of Charity which meshed with Ronnie’s most admirable quality “service to others.”
Traveling with family filled her vacation time especially to the Poconos and Newport, RI. Additionally, Ronnie immensely enjoyed her trps to Ireland (she was partial to all things Irish and loved celebrating St Patrick’s Day). Ronnie loved being by the ocean and was fascinated by lighthouses specifically in New England. A proud Bronx native she loyally rooted for her NY Yankees. For her father’s 80th birthday she hosted a gathering in a luxury suite at Yankee Stadium giving lasting memories to many generations in the Lillis/ Conklin family.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donation to the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) or ARC of Rockland. Memorial services will be private with a celebration of Ronnie’s life at a future date.
