Victorina H. Lazaro

On the afternoon of January 12th, 2020, Victorina (Vickie) H. Lazaro, 78, of Nanuet, NY, passed away in the presence of the Lord. Vickie was surrounded with her family at the time of her passing. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 18th at 10:00 a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in West Nyack, NY with Father Robert McKeon officiating. Burial will follow at Saint Anthony's Cemetery in Nanuet, NY. Arrangements made by Higgins Funeral Home. Vickie was born in the Philippines to Brigida and Pablo Lazaro on March 6, 1941. She graduated from MCU with a Bachelors of Science in Nursing and worked as a RN for fifty years. She was a devout Catholic, active within the St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, Cornerstone Ministry and was a member of the church choir. Vickie is survived by children Jeanie, Josephine, Brian; siblings: Catalina (deceased), Marcelina, Bonifacio, Teodora, Jose, Virginia, Mauro; and grandchildren: Michael, Olivia, Noah, Paul. The family wishes to extend sincere thanks to the medical staff of Good Samaritan Hospital, GSH Home Care, United Hospice of Rockland, Fr. Robert McKeon, the St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church and everyone that provided extra prayers, comfort and care during Vickie's final days. As one of Vickie's last requests, she asked for attendees to wear white to symbolize a celebration rather than mourning.
